Josslyn's Birthday and Trip to Utah

We had a wonderful time over the weekend of Nate and Josslyn's birthdays. We were able to go to Utah and see all our family and friends and it was so great to be able to celebrate Josslyn's birthday with everyone. She is so spoiled and I love it! She had a great time, got to spend LOTS of time with her cousins, which was her favorite part!

On Wednesday the 12th (Nate's birthday) we flew to Utah and spent the night with my brother and his family in Bountiful and Thursday morning (Josslyn's birthday) we headed up to Logan. First thing when we got there was we had to eat at Chili's! Nate and I LOVE Chili's, but the only one in the entire Western half of Washington is in Seatac Airport. WHAT?!?

We have Josslyn's birthday party that night at the Pizza Pie Cafe in Logan. It was perfect! So many people came and we had such a great time. Josslyn got so many presents and had so much fun seeing all the kids and eating her favorite thing...pasta.

 Mom, can I have more?!

So many presents! We were able to fit pretty much everything from her birthday into our suitcase, only had to leave two things from Christmas behind to get sent on later.

Super cute cake from Shaffer's Bakery in Logan. They gave a free small one for Josslyn to destroy and eat. It was amazing. I was so nervous about ordering over the phone from two states away, but they did a really great job!

My gorgeous baby girl. Doesn't that smile just say it all? What would I do without her?

This is pretty much the extent of the cake eating. She played for a second. Nate made her eat some and she spit it out and played with the toys on it instead.

Give the baby kisses!

We had such a great time! Thank you everyone that came and helped and was there for us. We were so happy to be able to share this moment with everyone!

We also did Christmas with our families while we were there. Since Nate and Josslyn's birthdays are right in between the holidays, we did what we could to get everything squeezed in while we were there. We went to the Zoo Lights at Hogle Zoo with Nate's family and we had such a good time. It was raining pretty hard, but we bundled up the kiddos so good that Josslyn promptly fell asleep and missed the whole thing!

We went bowling with my family on Saturday, and we are super competitive. I didn't loose! Yeah! And Josslyn slept through most of this experience...I swear this kid doesn't sleep this much at home, we must have just worn her out or something.

We stayed at Little America Friday and Saturday night and it was so fun! We went swimming and played and generally made a mess. Josslyn LOVES the pool. She would splash all around and then look to make sure I was watching and wave like crazy and then splash and laugh some more. It was so fun!

I didn't take many pictures obviously. Too enthralled with the moment I guess! But here's a good one right before we went to the airport to come home to rainy Washington!

Happy Birthday to the two best people in my life and thank you everyone for coming to share it with us. Can't believe my baby is one!

Okay...here are Josslyn's ONE YEAR STATS!

-Josslyn is 19 lbs. 13 oz. (Pretty tiny. I'm not sure of the percentiles, but we love our little girl.)
-She is 28.5 inches tall
-She can eat pretty much anything you set in front of her, but she really hates weird textures.
-We are starting this week to get her off bottles and onto milk.
-She is WALKING all over. About a week after Thanksgiving she decided she didn't really need to crawl anymore and finally let go of the furniture. She is starting to get so much faster, and it's so cute to watch her walk all over the house and tell stories and play with toys.
-Josslyn LOVES music and dances to pretty much any TV theme song but especially Big Bang Theory and Phineas and Ferb.
-Josslyn has four teeth in full and three more have broken through. All up front right in the middle, she started with her very front teeth and is working outward. She love to use them. You give her the tiniest cracker and she will bite it off instead of just sticking the whole thing in her mouth.

We hope everyone is having an amazing holiday season!

Happy Halloween!

This was Josslyn's first Halloween! I will admit I always hated this holiday and you can read all about it here. And I'll admit I almost didn't want to do anything this year with Josslyn because she's so little. Last minute I decided we would do something and even more last minute I decided to make it.

So Josslyn was Tinkerbell. After our trip to DisneyWorld this year, we decided she would make just about the cutest Tinkerbell of all time. So I made the dress, skirt underneath, and her shoes. I bought the wings because I ran out of tulle to make it, and they were only $3.

Little Miss was not sitting still very much, so much harder to get a picture of her when she's on the run!

Trunk or treat with our ward here in Issaquah. Her favorite stops were ones that had suckers!

She got this bear from Nate's work that squeaks and thinks it's just about the greatest thing ever made.

 Baby's wings.

 Baby's shoes.

Baby's skirt and green dress over it.

Good one of the whole outfit. Look mom, I can fly!

Still don't have great feelings toward Halloween, but it was a lot of fun to see her have so much fun dressing up and watching everyone coo over the cutest baby ever!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

02 October 2012

It's Been Awhile...

So I thought I would update the world on our little family. Since my last post a lot has happened to us!

On August 22nd, my little brother Lance got married. It was a beautiful wedding and I'm so glad I was there (even though I had the flu! and was trying real hard not to throw up the whole time!). I'm so happy for them!

The very next day (still while battling the flu, trying to get packed and loaded up) we moved our little family to Issaquah, Washington (about 20 minutes-ish East of Seattle). Fortunately my parents were able to come with us and drive the truck all way up here and help us load and unload the truck. Thank you so much!!

Josslyn really likes the breaks from driving.

Josslyn turned 8 months in August!

She's really easy to get a picture of now that she's able to get around on her own. She is now able to walk around with the assistance of the furniture. And after spending a whole week with her 18 month old cousin Sophie would REALLY like to get around on her own. She's trying so hard!

A week after we moved (yes a week! not even close to trying to get unpacked) we made a great trip to DisneyWorld with my whole family. A few highlights of the trip include:

Playing with fishes. She really wanted to hold them.

Meeting Alice.

Meeting Belle (mine and daddy's favorite princess!)

Meeting Rapunzel.

Meeting Mickey and Minnie (Josslyn watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse EVERYDAY and gets SO excited when Mickey comes on. Not Donald, not Daisy, not Minnie. Just MICKEY. So this was extra special).

Seeing the Light Parade. As soon as Mickey came by she was done.

Meeting Winnie the Pooh and friends!

Going on a jungle cruise.

Petting some animals. This goat was super appreciative.

Meeting Rafiki.

And she turned 9 months our last day in the Disney Parks. She's so old I can't believe it. She grows everyday and I was she would just stop it!

And we spent a whole day playing on the beach! All of us except Sophie and Josslyn got fried!

While we were in DisneyWorld Josslyn's first tooth came in and she now has THREE with one more coming in! She really likes being able to bite things off.

My little girl is getting so big. Nate says she's not a baby anymore, she's a little girl and we just can't handle it. (Please notice Mickey on in the background...)

It's now OCTOBER! Josslyn will be turning 10 months soon and we are so looking forward to sharing the holidays with her!
